Air-Seared Ribeye Steaks with Optional Compound Butter

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Steaks: Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Lightly brush or coat both sides with olive oil. Season generously with salt and pepper, or your preferred steak seasoning.
  2. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and preheat for a few minutes.
  3. Air-Fry the Steaks: Place the steaks in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. Cook for 6-8 minutes per side, depending on your desired doneness (see tips below). Use a digital instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature:
  4. 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare
    140°F (60°C) for medium
    150°F (66°C) for medium-well
Rest and Serve: Once cooked, transfer the steaks to a plate and tent loosely with foil. Let them rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. This ensures a tender and flavorful steak.
  5. Optional Compound Butter: While the steaks rest, you can prepare the optional butter. In a small bowl, combine melted butter and crumbled blue cheese (or roasted garlic for garlic butter). Stir well.
  6. Slice and Enjoy: Slice the rested steaks against the grain and serve with a pat of the compound butter (if using) or your favorite steak sauce.

Tips:

  1. Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your steaks and your specific air fryer model. It’s always best to use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness.
  2. For thicker steaks (over 1 inch thick), you may need to increase the cooking time by 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. To ensure even cooking, you can flip the steaks halfway through the cooking process.
  4. Let the steaks come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking for a more even cook
