To begin, preheat your air fryer to 180°C or 360°F, which should take about three minutes. Next, place your frozen sausages in the air fryer basket, being careful not to stack them, and cook them for seven minutes. This will give them time to thaw and cook through.
After seven minutes, use a metal fork or other pointed utensil to prick two to three holes evenly spaced in each sausage. This will prevent splatters caused by the sausages’ natural juices and fat content, while also allowing grease to drip down, making your finished sausage a bit healthier.
Flip the sausages over to ensure the holes are facing down, then cook for another five minutes on the same temperature setting. And voila! Your delicious, healthy and low-calorie frozen sausages are ready to be served.
If you have more time, defrosting your sausages before cooking is recommended. This will save you some cooking time when you are ready to prepare them. And if you’re cooking cocktail sausages in your air fryer, you’ll need to reduce the overall cooking time.
One of the best things about this recipe is that you don’t need to add oil when cooking frozen sausages in an air fryer. However, we do recommend using some frylight or a few sprays of olive oil to ensure the sausages do not stick to the fryer basket or come out dry.
