Chicken Chow Mein: A Healthy and Delicious Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Chinese rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 centimeters root ginger, peeled and finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 3 large skinless and boneless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 200 grams dried medium or thin egg noodles
  • Low-calorie cooking spray
  • 200 grams mangetout, halved lengthwise
  • 225 grams can water chestnuts, drained
  • 225 grams can bamboo shoots, drained
  • 1 red pepper, deseeded and thinly sliced
  • 8 spring onions, sliced diagonally
  • 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
  • 4 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • Thinly sliced red chili peppers, to serve (optional)
