Swiss roll cake with chocolate chips

Ingredients: 

  • 5 large eggs, separated;
  • 160g (1 ¼ cup) all-purpose flour;
  • 160g (¾ cup) sugar;
  • 120g (⅔ cup) chocolate chips;
  • 500g (2 cups) hazelnut paste.

Instructions:

  1. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  2. Beat egg yolks with sugar until pale. Add flour and whisk to combine.
  3. Gently fold in whipped egg whites into the batter, then add chocolate chips.
  4. Spread the batter onto a parchment-covered baking sheet and bake at 180°C/350°F for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Spread hazelnut paste on top of the hot cake and roll carefully. Let cool down completely before slicing.
